It's 3 AM. I'm grinding through freelance Python code with only my monitor lighting the room. Three energy drink cans decorate my desk – two empty, one half-full. Or half-empty? Doesn't matter anymore.
Suddenly crave tea. Stumble to kitchen, flip the switch on my electric kettle. Return to debugging. Ten minutes later – eerie silence. No whistle. Investigate to find water boiling angrily but silently. Fantastic.
This month's casualty list:- Electric kettle (RIP tonight)
- Headphones (left channel now sounds like a dying robot)
- Keyboard (coffee baptism)
- Motivation (vanished after last deadline)
Speaking of deadlines – client just messaged "URGENT fixes needed." Sure, urgent. At 2 AM. At least they pay on time.
Comment with your own tech horror stories – maybe I'm just cursed, or maybe we all abuse our gear this badly.
